Event Details

Join AWIN members at the Nashville Rescue Mission’s Women and Children's Campus to serve a hot meal! Activities will include food preparation, serving, cleaning, sorting and organizing, and dining room assistance. Due to capacity limitations, this project is limited to 10 volunteers.

You will be required to complete an online background check through the Mission's website before confirming your volunteer slot.

About the Service Projects

As part of AWIN’s mission to support community organizations who support women and families, please join us to volunteer with our June community partner, Nashville Rescue Mission, at their campus serving women and children experiencing homelessness. There will be four volunteer opportunities (see list below). Please note each opportunity has different start/end times and capacity limits. This registration page is for Option 1: Serve Lunch.

  1. Serve Lunch: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (10 volunteers max) 

  1. Computer Lab Monitor: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (3 volunteers max) 

  1. Organize Clothing Closet: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (8 volunteers max) 

  1. Run Games for Outdoor Children's Carnival: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (20 volunteers)

Service Project Timeline - Serve Lunch 

10:15 - 10:30 a.m. - Arrival and Check-in

10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Prepare and serve lunch for the Mission's guests

 

Registration Instructions

This event is open to current AWIN members only.

Please log in before registering. If you have not logged in before, follow these steps to create your account.

Click the Register Now button above. This button is only visible for logged-in members. 

  1. Sign up ONE of the four volunteer activities here on AWIN’s website. 

  1. In your confirmation email, follow the instructions to create an account and complete your background check through the Nashville Rescue Mission's website. 

  1. Once your background check has been completed and approved, you are then eligible to volunteer. Sign back into your account on the Nashville Rescue Mission's website to confirm registration.

*While most background checks are completed within 48 hours, it could take anywhere between 2-7 business days for your background check to process. Please sign up as early as possible to ensure enough time for your background check to process!
