AWIN's 2026 Programming

Advancing Women in Nashville (AWIN) provides programming dedicated to advancing the leadership development of women leaders at any stage of their career. From emerging leaders to mid-level to experienced, AWIN tailors our approach to fit the needs of all.

Offering 33 hours of programs across 9 events in 2026, we focus on three main types of engagements:

ELEVATE Leadership Model: Overview

The Elevate Leadership Model is a framework for developing leaders at all stages--emerging, mid-level, and experienced--by focusing on behavioral competencies, role progression, and impactful connections within organizations.
1. Elevate Skills: Behavioral Competencies

This component emphasizes the development of key behavioral skills necessary for effective leadership. These include:

  • Capacity Building: Strengthening foundational skills for productivity and problem-solving.

  • Creative Problem-Solving: Encouraging innovative thinking and adaptability.

  • Exploring Hard and Soft Skills: Balancing technical expertise with interpersonal abilities.

  • Coaching Culture: Fostering environments where leaders mentor and support others.

2. Elevate Roles: Emerging, Mid-Level, and Experienced

Leadership development is tailored to different career stages:

  • Emerging Leaders: Focus on foundational skills and transitioning into leadership roles.

  • Mid-Level Leaders: Develop advanced competencies, manage teams, and drive organizational initiatives.

  • Experienced Leaders: Lead organizational change, mentor others, and shape strategic direction.

3. Elevate Impact: Connections, Development, and Collaboratives

This area highlights the importance of building strong networks and collaborative relationships:

  • Connection Culture: Creating unity and engagement by meeting universal human needs such as respect and belonging.

  • Development: Investing in continuous professional growth for leaders and teams.

  • Collaboratives: Encouraging cross-functional teamwork and shared accountability for organizational success.

Through Elevate, we’re diversifying our offerings and embedding best practices and research-driven strategies to ensure every member has a clear path to growth and influence.

Our 2026 Leadership Competencies

Each year, we will designate a number of leadership competencies as focus areas to inform our programming. These behavior-based competencies are derived from Korn Ferry Leadership Competencies, which were designed to enable employees of all levels within the organization to make a meaningful contribution in a dynamic business environment.

In 2026, we have selected seven to build on:
